ordinary world- wakes up gets ready to go to Canyon Lands
call to adventure- pushing the limit of himself and the world around him
refusal- is too good to call mom back, or tell any one where he is going
meeting mentor- the mentor is his drive to survive and his memories of back home, and then ultimately his son
crossing the threshold- he crosses the threshold when he starts his day in canyonlands
test, allies, enemies- allies is his memories and keeping sane. test is having the rock fall on his arm
cave- reaching the inmost cave is when he decides he needs to cut his arm off
ordeal- cutting his arm off and having the streangth and will power to stay awake and continue to cut it off
reward- cutting his arm all the way off
road back- walking and going down the trail and screaming for help
rusurrection- getting the helicopter to him and taking him to the hospital and recovering
return with elixir- still climbs and hikes, but always tells people where he is going.
